Cleveland Repertory Orchestra

What to Know Before You Come

Welcome to the Cleveland Repertory Orchestra!

If you’re reading this page, we hope you’ll join us for a concert soon – we can’t wait to see you! We care a lot about growing our audience, so if you think classical music or orchestra concerts aren’t for you, we hope you’ll give us a try.

This page should answer some of your questions about who we are and what we do. If you have a question that isn’t answered here, feel free to message us on Facebook, Instagram, or email us directly  at clevelandrepertoryorchestra@gmail.com.

What kind of music do you play?

All kinds! Our mission is to explore many different types of music, especially highlighting music by living and underrepresented composers.

We like variety, so whether you’re new to the symphony or a classical music buff, we try to offer something for everyone while making the concert enjoyable and informative.

Where do you perform?

We have concerts all over Northeastern Ohio! Each one is in a different location. Part of our mission is to make live music performances accessible to as many people as possible, so we’re always exploring new venues in the Greater Cleveland Area.

How much are tickets?

FREE! Please register in advance so we know how many audience members we can expect for our concerts.

What should I wear?

You can wear anything you want! We strongly encourage you to dress comfortably and come as you are – our concerts have no dress codes.

Do you always perform in churches?

Only sometimes, but usually. Many churches in the Greater Cleveland area are not only great acoustic spaces, but they fit the size of the orchestra, our audience, and, frankly, our budget.

Many of the venues in which we play support our mission and offer us access to their spaces at a very affordable rate.

We know some audience members might not feel comfortable attending a performance in a church, but please understand that we work very hard to partner with positive and affirming venues.

Can I use my phone?

Our program book is almost entirely digital. We encourage the use of cell phones, including sharing pictures of the orchestra and your experience on social media, but smartphones aren’t required to follow along with the program.

We only ask that you turn your flash off, keep your screen’s brightness turned down, and put your phone on vibrate/silent so you don’t distract the orchestra members or those seated around you.

I don't know when to clap!

This one is easy – clap whenever you hear something you like!
